か ka → が ga · さ sa → ざ zaHandakuten turns the H row into the P sounds. It appears only with this one family.
は ha → ぱ pa · ほ ho → ぽ poSmall ゃ, ゅ, or ょ joins an I-column kana and the two shapes become one syllable.
き ki + ゃ ya → きゃ kyaParticles, endings, and many native words appear here: これは ねこ です。
Many borrowed words and foreign names arrive here: コーヒー means coffee.
